Offsetting

Sometimes you need to place something say in the center of another object or specifically move it by some desired amount from a pivot point:

First select the object you want to offset, then hit Edit menu > Move

Now you have two options either

Translate:

-By local axis moves by x amount in local (projected) coordinate

- By XYZ which modifies the position itself, X stands for right, Y for up, Z for front

- XYZ GC to another GC -> selected objects geometric center to another objects geometric center (places selected object in the center of another objects)

- GC to 0,0,0 places selected objects in the 0,0,0 point (center of selected objects is now at 0,0,0)

Offset: (important note you have to be in SEL mode)

You choose the pivot point(first submenu) of objects you want to offset, then you choose from which pivot point (second submenu) you actually offset from:

PIVOTS ARE IN LOCAL COORDINATE SYSTEM THAT MEANS: WHAT YOU SEE AT TOP LEFT IS AT TOP LEFT etc.

Next thing is to choose how much offset we need in local X and Y axes then you select the objects that prevorious selection will be offseted from and you click. Either check button (in desktop mode) or Apply in phone mode
